It’s clear to see that Saweetie takes her beauty seriously because she always looks stunning. From her glowing skin to her shimmery nails, Saweetie never disappoints and looks goodt-- and yes, the “t” is intentional.
Her beauty is so inspirational the “High Maintenance” rapper boasts plenty of ambassadorships with notable beauty brands including Sinful Colors, Morphe, and most recently, M.A.C. We hope that this means we can expect plenty of high-shine lip glosses in an exclusive collaboration in her role as an official “M.A.C Girl.”
As we countdown to the 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards, we decided to take a look at the Hustler Of The Year nominee’s best beauty advice along with some of her memorable beauty glam moments over recent years. Below, learn about her where she draws inspiration, self-care regimen, and the best advice her mother gave her.
Draw Fashion/Beauty Inspiration From ‘Life’
While chatting with BET Style about building a successful Instagram brand, Saweetie revealed that she often draws most of her fashion and beauty inspiration from “life.”
“The reason why people know that I love my hair and my nails is because I share that,” she explained. “I get inspiration from everywhere. For example, I’ll see a fly lady pumping her gas at the gas station, and take a picture of her hairstyle and be like, ‘I want this next.’”
Keep Skin Moisturized
The Icy Grl’s skin is always glowing. During an interview with Byrdie she let her fans in on how she maintains her skin with her morning and night routine. “I wash my face every morning and every night. I use lighter products in the morning and then heavier products at night, like night creams.”
She even goes as far as steaming her face to open her pores.
Take Mental Health Seriously
Believe it or not, mental health can affect the body, the skin, and overall health and Saweetie is aware of this. While sharing her morning routine with Elle Magazine, the performer explained how if her mental health isn’t in check she can’t bring her A-game. "If my mental's not good, if the skin's not good, the body's not good, then Saweetie don't work.”
In a separate interview with Refinery29, she explained how she prioritizes self-care when her schedule is hectic. “I do get stressed out but something that I do as self-care and for my mental health is putting a timer on (for around 15 or 20 minutes) and I try not to think about absolutely anything,” the “My Type” rapper shares about her routine. “I’ll either put on some music or sit in silence, but I make sure I’m not touching my phone. I’m not thinking of anything that has to do with decision-making so as not to overwhelm myself.”
Beauty Care IS Important
Saweetie makes it clear that caring for yourself is just as important as caring for those close to you. While talking to Glamour she admitted that she was thankful that her mother taught her to maintain her health.
"[The best advice my mom gave was] to wash my face [...] before I go to sleep,” she told the outlet. “When I went to college and was living in the dorms, I realized not everyone does that, but I’m glad that I did because my skin is so flawless. I always use a makeup removing balm so it won’t pull my skin down. I’m all into beauty care so I don’t have to get Botox. Not that I have a problem with that, but if I can hold off, then great."
