Taye Diggs Hosts New Dating Show ‘Back in the Groove’

The show links older women with younger men inspired by the 1998 film, How Stella Got Her Groove Back

The 1998 romantic comedy How Stella Got Her Groove Back made Taye Diggs a star as his character Winston Shakespeare wooed an older woman named Stella Payne played by Angela Bassett.

This year, Diggs will help inspire three women who are packing their bags and heading to the Dominican Republic in hopes of finding love with a younger man on the new dating show, Back in the Groove—coming soon to Hulu.

According to People, Diggs, 51, will be the host and the women’s love guru as they work “to rediscover their youth, live joyously, and hopefully find love.”

"As the saying goes, 'You can't fall in love with someone else until you fall in love with yourself,'" the description reads. "At the Groove Hotel, these three women will have the opportunity to do both! Whether they find the perfect fling, friendship, true love, or something in between, this is their chance to take charge and break through the double standards older women face every day."

Steph, Sparkle, and Brooke—all in their 40s will be staying at a destination called The Groove Hotel. Where 24 young men will be available to help them reignite their spark. “There are 24 hot young men. All of them are excited to date older women," adds Diggs. "Age is just a number."

The show is sure to be intriguing as both the women and men experience challenges in dating and finding a match as well as facing their own insecurities.

Diggs will also soon reprise his role as Harper for the Peacock series, The Best Man: The Final Chapters streaming December 22.
