President Biden, Vice President Harris To Speak At Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Phoenix Awards
President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are reportedly scheduled to deliver speeches at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Phoenix Awards dinner Oct. 1.
According to theGrio, the pair are expected to highlight the achievements of the Biden-Harris administration on national issues impacting Black communities for attendees of the foundation’s 51st Annual Leadership Conference. Harris will speak first to a crowd of around 3,000, including her former Capitol Hill colleagues and fellow members of the Congressional Black Caucus, for whom she worked as a former senator.
With less than 50 days until the Nov. 8 midterm elections, the planned speeches appear to acknowledge the importance of Black voters.
The annual “CBC” week features the nation’s leading public policy conference, according to theGrio. This year’s Annual Leadership Conference (ALC) will offer 100 in-person forums that will join lawmakers with celebrities, business leaders, general citizens and others to discuss issues that impact Black communities, including economic development, voting rights, education and more.
