BET Awards 2022: Jodeci Redefines Bedroom R&B with These Classic Hits

We’re looking back at the group’s most significant records.

The BET Awards 2022 was one for the books. The night included several show-stopping moments and a performance from legendary r&b group Jodeci featuring a medley of their biggest hit you had to see to believe. However, just because the show is over doesn’t mean the music has to stop. Check out this short list of records we’ve put together to honor some of the quartet’s biggest hits and songs that redefined bedroom r&b. Check it out below.

  • “Forever My Lady”

    “Forever My Lady” was the second single released from the group’s debut studio album of the same name, Forever My Lady. The mid-tempo r&b track earned the quartet the first number one hit, spending two weeks on top of Billboard’s R&B chart.

  • “Love U 4 Life”

    Jodeci’s “Love U 4 Life” peaked at number 31 on Billboard Hot 100. The single was featured on the group’s third album, The Show, the After Part, the Hotel.

  • “Freek’N You”

    The uptempo tracks, whose visual features a guest cameo From TLC member T-Boz, peaked at number eight on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks.  It was the second single released from the group’s 1995 third studio album, The Show, the After Part, the Hotel.

  • “Cry For You”

    “Cry For You” is the lead single off Jodeci’s second studio album  Diary of a Mad Band, released in 1992. The track, produced by the late and legendary Andre Harrell, spent four weeks at number one on  Billboard’s R&B chart, becoming the group’s final record to hit the achievement.

  • “Feenin’”

    This 1994 record off their second studio album Diary of a Mad Band received a celebrity-packed visual directed by BET Awards 2022 nominee Hype Williams which featured the likes of Snoop Doggy Dogg and Treach from Naughty by Nature.
