Producer of Tupac Biopic Sues for $10 Million

More delays and drama for the long-awaited film.

A new lawsuit involving the Tupac biopic means more delays ahead for the long-awaited project. The film's producer, a company called Emmett/Furla Oasis, is suing production company Morgan Creek for moving ahead with the project without the necessary approvals.
Emmett/Furla Oasis and Morgan Creek were meant to be partners on the project, with each entity bringing in fifty percent of the financing in exchange for equal rights over the project. Now, the former company is claiming the latter moved forward to make major production decisions, including hiring a "secret" star to play Tupac, without consulting them. Emmett/Furla Oasis is seeking $10 million in damages.
This project is the same one John Singleton left, citing creative differences, earlier this year. Carl Franklin was hired to replace Singleton, though at this point it seems like it will be a long time before the film ever sees light of day.
Meanwhile, a Tupac-centered murder mystery might be a better idea given recent claims by a California cop that he helped the rap icon fake his own death. Watch the compelling story, below:
