Keke Palmer is in her own lane, and rightfully so. Having captured our hearts and coins since starring in movies such as Barbershop 2: Back in Business and Akeelah and the Bee, the industry veteran is truly a force to be reckoned with, and it’s not surprising to see why she’s one of our favorite Hollywood stars. Seeing her at the BET Awards 2022 only reminded us why we love her so much. So check out this list if you’re still not hip about why we can’t get enough of our favorite leading lady Keke Palmer.
She’s about her bag
Many know the incomparable Keke as a child actress, but since then, she’s gone on to star in some of the biggest films and television shows, including Hustler and Issa Rae’s hit series Insecure. In 2022 the actress will release not one but three films, including Pixar’s animated movie Lightyear, Alice, and Jordan Peel’s upcoming horror film NOPE, in addition, to being a judge on HBO Max’s reality competition show Legendary.
She’s doesn’t entertain drama
It’s rare to find Keke arguing online with trolls. That’s just something this star doesn’t do. While talking to The Huffington Post, the singer opened up about ignoring online critics, telling the outlet, “Just as many people that love me, hate me too. I get really mean, mean, mean, mean comments on Twitter, and it just comes with the territory. In the past, I’ve sometimes responded back, and more so now I’m trying my best to not ever respond ever again because I feel like those people that do that don’t deserve the attention.”
She’s a great motivator
Keke is always using her platforms to promote positive affirmation. Using her Instagram page, the actress spoke about letting go of fear and shame. “There’s nothing to EVER be ashamed of,” she wrote at the time. “Shame is the biggest trick your ego can play on you to set limitations on your life experience. You were born to MAKE MANIFEST! Anything you have experienced or gone through has only been to prepare you. Do not believe in the delusion of FEAR, it is a CHOICE.”
She’s a style queen
Like her acting, Keke never misses a beat regarding a red carpet look. Over the years, her sense of style has only elevated, leaving fans wondering what look can’t this beauty pull off.
She’s transparent about her daily struggles
In 2020 Keke spoke about struggles with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), a hormonal disorder that causes enlarged ovaries and cysts. Symptoms of PCOS include acne, excessive hair growth, and weight gain. “I tried EVERYTHING. I did Accutane TWICE. People say drink water, have a better diet, but I did all that, I ate all the ‘right’ things, my blood tests were fine,” the actress wrote in a lengthy post on Instagram. “But it took ME taking a personal look into my family that has a history of diabetes and obesity, to understand what was ACTUALLY happening with me.”
