Barack Obama To Host Kennedy Center Honors. The president will hand out awards to five iconic artists in Washington.

Washington will get to dazzle a little tonight thanks to the 34th Kennedy Center Honors at The White House, in which five different exemplary artists will get spotlighted.

 

Grammy-award winning composer and saxophonist Sonny Rollins, actress Meryl Streep, cellist Yo Yo Ma and two others will receive awards.

 

President Barack Obama will host the event before attending a gala at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Washington Post reports. CBS will broadcast the gala on Dec. 27.

 

This is the third time the Mr. Obama is hosting the awards. In the past, he has honored media mogul Oprah Winfrey and actor Robert DeNiro.
