BETX Youth Experience

The BET Experience Youth Program is a free three-day educational development program that serves 50 students from 40 high schools in LA interested in careers in the entertainment industry. The highly selective program gives students an opportunity to learn about different aspects of the music industry including music journalism, event production and the history of African American Music and its expansive contributions to American culture. The BET Youth Experience kicks off with a guided tour of the BET exhibit and first of the Genius Talk lecture series. In the past Genius Talk speakers have featured high profile celebrities and influencers such as Gabrielle Union, DJ Khaled, Snoop Dog, Jermaine Dupree, Kirk Franklin and more. During the remainder of the three-day program, students sit in on industry panels with celebrities, executives and BET employees and attend BET Experience events such as the Celebrity Basketball Game, Genius Talks and BET Awards ceremony. Through the program, students build confidence, connections, and a broad understanding of all aspects of the entertainment industry.
