Devoted members of the fashion world love them some Lupita Nyong'o. It's no secret that she's definitely a fashion risk-taker, but when it comes to her style inspiration, don't get it twisted — She knows her stuff.

The folks over at Vogue magazine got on the Oscar winner's bad side when they likened the dramatic up-do she rocked at the 2016 Met Gala to white actress Audrey Hepburn. Well, actually, Lupita's hair was inspired by her ancestors and she made sure to let them know that in one of her most recent Instagram posts:

In their write-up, Vogue reported, "The sculptural style is also reminiscent of the updo Audrey Hepburn sported in a 1963 Vogue shoot with Bert Stern."

Lupita handled that well. Check, indeed.
