Mimi-isms: Mariah Carey Puts Her Own Twist on 'LGBTQ' at the GLAAD Awards

Find out her clever version of the acronym.

Mariah Carey's Lambs are among the most loyal of the fanbases known today, with a lot of them being a part of the LGBTQ community. For her continued support of them, Mimi was honored with the Ally Award at the GLAAD Media Awards on Saturday and while she strutted to the stage to make her speech, she decided to put her own spin on the acronym of the night.

After admitting she was nervous to attend the event, she said she only showed up because she wanted to be sure she earned the award by fully understanding just what every letter in "LGBTQ" stood for. So, in true Mariah fashion, she put her own unique spin on it.

"I had to learn a whole new alphabet to introduce and not un-include people... I don't want to do it wrong. I decided that if I have to memorize it, I might as well elaborate on it," she said. "So, we have L: legendary. G: gorgeous. B: beautiful — all of you beautiful people! T: tantalizing, and even Q for quality!"

After receiving a rousing round of applause from the audience, she thanked all of her supporters for pushing her along throughout her massive career.

"Thank you for the unconditional love, because it's very difficult for me to have that," she said. "I haven't experienced much of it... I wish all of you love, peace, harmony, and as my 5-year-old son likes to say: boobies and butts!"
