Guess Who Wants to Replace Michael Strahan

The answer may surprise you.

Michael Strahan's officially no longer a part of the LIVE! family, and now that he's gone, everybody's giving their opinions on who should take his seat. Now someone with talk show experience has come forward saying she — yes, she — would be a perfect fit.

It's none other than former The View co-host Sherri Shepherd. TMZ caught up with the comic while out and about in New York City, and she shared just why she thinks she's the ideal candidate for the job.

"Would I do it? Yes! Kelly and Sherri," she said. "Kelly and the Black girl. I don't care. I would love to do it with Kelly. She's amazing. She's fun."

Sherri believes a gender shake-up is long overdue on the long-running morning show. "I think a woman would be great with Kelly," she said. "I think you've seen a man so many seasons with Regis and Michael. I think people would be ready for a woman with Kelly. A different woman. How about a Black woman?"

While she says they need to ditch the idea of hiring a man for the job, she does believe one thing should always remain the same — Kelly Ripa's name should always be first.

"She's earned that right," she said. "So yes, it should always be Kelly and... fill in the blank."
