Get ready to see Vanessa Williams in a completely different light. While the Ugly Betty star is known for her multiple stints in some of TV's most popular series, she's changing gears and is about to hit the silver screen in an upcoming sci-fi film.

According to Deadline, she will star in The Man From Earth: Holocene, the sequel to The Man From Earth. The Miss America winner will star alongside Sterling Knight and Akemi Look in the film, which will be directed by Richard Schenkman.

The original movie followed the life of John Oldman, "a man who has lived for millennia, always moving on after 10 years to hide his secret," Deadline reports.

While details on the sequel are being held under lock and key, it is known that the term "Holocene" represents the historical period ranging from the end of the most recent ice age to present day.

The Man From Earth: Holocene will hit theatres in 2017.
