With Tariji P. Henson's dynamic personality, fiery clapback skills and of course, her ability to absolutely slay regardless of the role she's playing, it was only a matter of time until she landed a role in a fast-paced action movie.

As reported, the Empire and Hidden Figures star has just signed on to play a hitwoman in the forthcoming thriller, Proud Mary.

According to the reports, the movie will follow Henson through her daily life of working as a hitwoman, until her intense career is challenged when meeting a young boy who has her contemplating embracing motherhood for the first time.

While a director has yet to be recruited for the project, it has been reported by Variety that production will likely begin this April.

Taraji kicking butt and taking names? We're definitely here for that.

Considering her drama Hidden Figures opened at No. 1 in the box office this past weekend, we trust this year is going to bring the beloved actress much success and we can't wait to see what she does with this exciting new role. Congrats, Taraji!
