Black 'Top Model' Contestant Claims Cops Refused to Investigate Rape Over Race

The ANTM star is hoping going public will force the police's hand.

Former America's Next Top Model contestant, Bello Sanchez has come forward with claims that he was raped in a Paris nightclub, and was offered little help by local police because of his race and sexuality.

Sanchez told TMZ that the assault took place on January 30th, in Paris' Le Rouge nightclub. He added that the police did not complete rape testing immediately after the assault, and was not administered a proper rape kit until an advocacy group offered to step in 72 hours after the alleged assault.

Sanchez explained what the police failed to do in a self-taped video. "Look for that person, Paris is so easy to find someone, all the buildings are the same color, there's not really a lot of place you can hide at," he says. "Why did they not look around in that moment as soon as they came when I told them? Why didn't they do that? Why didn't they ask the security guards?"

He continued, "When we called, they were trying to blame it on me like, 'Well why did he take that long to get a rape kit?'" Adding, "I do think if I was a little blonde white girl in Paris saying that that happened to me I think things would have been different, yeah." He also stated that he believes his race and sexuality played a role, "I think my skin-tone, I think my gender, my sexuality, how I look, I think all those things had something to do with why I was not given the proper respect that I deserved. That's what I believe"

These allegations are truly severe, and if proven true, they display a shocking level of discrimination amongst the police officers that were on the scene. Hopefully Sanchez coming forward with his harrowing story leads to him getting the justice he deserves.
