The Black Rom-Com Sequel You've Been Waiting Nearly 30 Years for Is Actually Happening

Eddie Murphy sent social media into a frenzy.

Eddie Murphy just excited Coming to America fanatics everywhere after he coyly hinted that a sequel of the classic film may be under way. However, we all know to not take a tweet too seriously.

But according to TMZ, sources close to the actor revealed to them that he is in the early stages of writing the project. As of now, those seem to be the only details that are available — but it is happening!

There is no word yet on whether or not all of the members of the original cast will reprise their roles in the second installment.

The speculation began when Murphy tweeted a photo of Vanessa Bell Calloway in character below the caption, "Coming to America sequel?"

After sending out the tweet, it seems as the actor deleted it along with his entire account. TMZ reports that this drastic action was due to the premature posting of the tweet, since he's still writing the plot.
