News recently broke that a Georgia teen accidentally shot and killed himself while on Instagram Live, and according to new reports, basketball legend Shaquille O'Neal is helping make the grieving process a little easier for the family.

TMZ reports that Shaq has offered to pay for 13-year-old Malachi Hemphill's funeral after hearing the tragic news.

The tragedy occurred when a gun the teenager was showing off on Instagram Live accidentally went off. After hearing the loud noise, his mother and sister rushed to his bedroom only to find him lying in a pool of blood. He passed away on Wednesday.

After hearing the story, Shaq flew to Atlanta the next day and made the generous offer.

The NBA legend's charitable offer comes right on time as Hemphill's grandmother said the family did not have insurance for the child. She added that Shaq's gesture is "a blessing and very touching." The family continues to send their appreciation to the former athlete.
