#NeverForget: Watch Bill Maher Use the N-Word 11 Times in This Throwback Video

Is it too late to apologize?

Bill Maher issued a sincere-sounding apology for dropping the n-word on live television last Friday night, but nobody thinks it was the first time the provocateur has used the racial slur.
Russell Simmons
posted a throwback video of Maher mouthing off a string of slurs — not to mention telling a Black woman she can't speak for Black people because she's light-skinned — to make sure we #neverforget.

Simmons posted this exchange between Maher and actress Anne-Marie Johnson, which took a dangerous turn when Maher started defending his and other white people's right to use the N-word because of — you guessed it — hip-hop. Maher makes his point by using the word about 12 times in 30 seconds, to audible gasps from the audience.
Uncle Rush captioned the video, "Before we hear @billmaher's apology on his show Friday, let's not forget he used the N-word before and spoke over a Black guest trying to correct him about it. I have helped numerous people make amends to the Jewish and especially gay community for similar incidents. They do more than use words to apologize they donate or better they show up. Bill should do something meaningful for some cause or organization that helps the Black community."

Gross.
