MTV’s rebooted third season of Scream is in the works and Wallace along with Tyga are slated for leading roles. The show will return in March.
Queen Latifah, Shakim Conpere and Yaneley Arty will handle executive production of the show with a new creative team that’ll move its production from Louisiana to Atlanta. It will also feature an entire new cast.
C.J. will be playing the role of Amir, a good kid whose strict parents expect him to be straight edge during high school and eventually fit into the family business. Tyga will play Jamal, the step-brother of a local star running back who has a tragic past.
This is Wallace’s first series regular debut gig. Previously, he had just made single appearances on the big screen, including a role in the biopic film Notorious, as himself.
More recently, C.J. Wallace was the star of Focus Features’ feature film Kicks with Mahershala Ali playing Albert. He also tested for the lead role in Showtime’s forthcoming series The Chi.
Scream’s six-episode third season will premiere during a three-night event in March on MTV with a specific start date yet to be announced.
