Jordan Peele Had The Perfect Response To White Folks Thinking ‘Get Out’ Is A Comedy
Jordan Peele's Get Out is one of the most successful films of the year and will certainly go down in horror movie history. Today it was announced that the film will be submitted in the comedy/musicial category, and the idea of the powers-that-be in Hollywood making light of the issues in the film has Twitter mad as hell.
See what 'Get Out' star Alison Williams has to say about White privilege in our exclusive interview, above.
Many people are claiming this is a racist and idiotic move. The Independent reports, however, that it was the studio's decision to submit the film in the comedy category: "Considering the sad fact that original contemporary horror films such as Get Out just don't get the recognition they deserve when it comes to awards ceremonies, Universal Pictures has officially entered the film into the comedy/musical category at the Golden Globes."
Even director Jordan Peele sounded off in a Tweet that has gone viral.
Of course, Twitter let have. See the tweets below:
However, some folks don't agree there is anything racist about the film being considered a comedy and it's actually a tactic to win at the Golden Globes.
Congrats again to Jordin Sparks!
