According to Bossip, Chyna's best friend, Charmeika "Paige" Addison, allegedly borrowed her car and hit two women before fleeing the scene while behind the wheel. The incident reportedly occurred two years ago. Chyna was named a defendant in the lawsuit filed by the two women.
Chyna has reportedly argued in court documents for a gag order to be put in place in her upcoming civil negligence trial, claiming that media coverage of the case could negatively affect its progress and its overall outcome.
The former stripper also, furthermore, requested that a protective order be issued around the case to seal records and hearings, claiming that the publicity surrounding the case created a "clear and present danger of a serious and imminent threat to the administration of justice."
A judge will ultimately make the executive decision to close the upcoming trial to the public or to leave it open.
Both alleged victims, Zohar Misrahi and Michaela Masica, claimed that Addison struck them with Chyna's vehicle, inflicting major injuries on them. They said she fled the scene before the police arrived. The ladies reportedly are seeking monetary damages from both Addison and Chyna, claiming it was their carelessness that caused the occurrence.
Chyna and Addison, however, have firmly denied their allegations and added that their injuries were caused by their own careless driving and others.
The alleged victims also claimed in their court documents that they opposed Chyna's gag order motion and further stated that the move violated their first amendment rights and said that there is no proof that media coverage would negatively affect the case.
A judge is set to rule on the case in December, and it is set to head to trial on June 4, 2018.
