Report: Jennifer Hudson Sets The Record Straight About Feeling Threatened By Her Ex
Reports recently surfaced that David Otunga, Jennifer Hudson's ex-fiancé and the father of her child, was granted primary custody of their son, David Jr. However, new reports surfaced indicating that the Oscar winner is claiming otherwise and sources close to her are reportedly explaining the real reason why she lifted that order of protection.
Recap the initial reports with BET Breaks, above.
According to TMZ, insiders report that the former wrestler does not have primary custody of the child and clarified that just because the former American Idol contestant lifted the order doesn't mean she did not feel threatened by him.
Sources added that the only reason she lifted the order is that it would keep Otunga away from their son, and now that he is out of their family home for good, he is no longer a threat and she no longer has to worry for her or their son's safety.
While she did state in the court documents that she feared for her "physical and emotional safety and that of [her] son," the actress clarified that Otunga never physically threatened or harmed their son. She reportedly was referencing the possible emotional damage he may inflict on David Jr. from him seeing his father threaten his mother.
Furthermore, she stressed that despite her working schedule, she's always made motherhood her first priority and will now bring her son along with her out of the country with David's mother tutoring him on the road. She also clarified that while David Jr. is in Otunga's care at the moment, the judge is yet to formally rule on a custody agreement.
