Taraji P. Henson boasts one of the brightest and most welcoming smiles in Hollywood. However, another talent that hides behind those hundred-watt whites is the art of shade, as the Hidden Figures star seemingly showcased just this during an interview with red carpet personality and the latest alleged Hollywood sexual predator Ryan Seacrest.
After social media and viewers of the interview concluded that she was making an example of the talk show host in light on his allegations, the actress directly spoke on her intentions with People.
The moment occurred when Seacrest asked Henson a question about her friend Mary J. Blige and her nominations this year. She responded by saying, "The universe has a way of taking care of good people," before touching his chin and adding with a smile, "Know what I mean?"
Take a look, below:
Clearing things up with People, the Oscar-nominated actress said that her remarks were "misconstrued."
"I did it to keep his chin up," she said. "It's an awkward position to be in. He's been cleared but anyone can say anything."
This all comes on the heels of the American Idol host being accused of sexual misconduct by stylist Suzie Hardy back in November. Despite Hardy's descriptive claims, E! concluded that there was "insufficient evidence to support the claims against Seacrest."
Following the initial allegations, it was predicted that several stars, specifically women, would snub him on the red carpet ahead of the ceremony. However, 21 stars stopped to chat with him, including Henson and MJB, who said that he is "fighting for his life" at this moment.
