Get Outta Compton: Stacey Dash’s Political Campaign Has Come To A Humiliating End
Well, that was quick.
If you're reading this and was hoping to elect Clueless star Stacey Dash to Congress, it appears that you're out of luck as the actress has officially withdrawn from the race.
Dash recently announced that she has ended her bid for a seat in California's 44th congressional district, which includes North Long Beach, San Pedro, Watts, and Compton.
The former Fox News commentator shared the news on Twitter.
"After much prayer, introspection and discussion with my family, I am withdrawing my candidacy from California's 44th Congressional District," she wrote. "At this point, I believe that the overall bitterness surrounding our political process, participating in the rigors of compaigning, and holding elected office would be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of my family."
She went on to stress that she is still determined "to improve the lives of people who have been forgotten for decades by the Democratic Party."
As expected, she also threw some further shade towards both the Democratic Party and her critics in her statement. All of her apparent "reads" seem to have had little impact as social media's reaction to her withdrawl is anything but melancholy.
