Kim Kardashian's career trajectory could have been completely different had she gone with her initial dream, which was to be on a hit 1990s reality show prior to her sex tape claim to fame.
In a candid interview with Business of Fashion, the reality TV star-turned-entrepreneur revealed that she initially dreamed of being a cast member on MTV's The Real World.
"When I was really young, I always was — it's the weirdest thing — but I loved [MTV's] The Real World," she said. "I would say to my best friend's dad, who was a manager, 'You should be my manager! When we're 18, I'm going to send a tape into The Real World because I have to be on a reality show."
Her determination to become a reality star at any cost seemed to work out as, according to her, "the producers [of] The Real World produced my show, so it kind of all came full circle."
While she is referencing her family's monster hit reality series, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, it was, in fact, her sex tape with ex-boyfriend Ray J that first made her a household name. Regardless of how she achieved it, she certainly got the fame she sought.
