The bulletproof Black man will apparently meet his match this June.
The trailer for the second season of Marvel's Luke Cage was recently released, and it shows the title character come face to face with his new rival: John Irving, a.k.a. the Bushmaster.
Irving, played by Mustafa Shakir, follows in the dangerous yet failed footsteps of the show's former villains Cottonmouth and Diamondback, from season one. Unlike those two, however, Bushmaster seems to handle Cage (Mike Colter) with ease.
The season picks up shortly after Luke Cage teamed up with the other Defenders — Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Iron Fist — to save New York City from The Hand. Now that Cage has returned to Harlem with a bit of fame, he finds it difficult to assimilate into his "regular" life, while other dark elements inevitably try to lurk through the borough.
