Kandi Burruss' next reality TV venture, titled Haute Lanta, was set to see the Real Housewives of Atlanta star take on a behind-the-scenes role as executive producer. However, recent reports indicate that she will no longer get that opportunity as the show has been completely scrapped thanks to one of her RHOA co-stars.
According to theJasmineBRAND.com, sources revealed that the non-scripted show has been completely axed thanks to Marlo Hampton, who was set to star as one of its main personalities.
The site reports that she was too demanding and was not open to compromising on her requests.
"She had too many demands and she wasn't willing to budge," the insider explained. "She has some star power, but for a new show, there's not much of a budget. Marlo wanted too much."
The source went on to specify that she demanded things like "first class flights," making her "too difficult to work with."
The site further reports that Bravo, the family network of RHOA, was likely not on board with Marlo leaving the show for another network, WeTV, which Haute Lanta was scheduled to air on.
Despite reports that she was described as the nucleus of the reality series, the site also states that there was, in fact, an ensemble cast in place including the likes of Project Runway alum Ken Laurence, The Fashion Show alum Reco Chapple, celebrity gossip blogger Funky Dineva, Kontrol magazine editor Julian Clark and more.
Haute Lanta was scheduled to commence shooting in July of this year. However, it is reported that the entire project has since been scrapped.
