Blac Chyna Defends Herself Against Allegations She Did Nothing To Help Save Her Dying Assistant

Lorena “Patty” Hernandez passed away 5 days ago.

While Blac Chyna should be grieving the loss of her longtime assistant Lorena "Patty"Hernandez, sources close to the model are clearing up speculation that she did nothing to help the mother-of-three before her tragic death.

Shutting down claims of abuse and alienation by Chyna, a source told PEOPLE, "Chyna’s been constantly and steadily involved and supportive financially, from the very beginning. She’s had [Hernandez’s] kids at the house. She’s just been an amazing person all the way through this, there’s no doubt about that."

Hernandez, who was Chyna's assistant for three years, passed away on Wednesday (May 16) after formally being pronounced brain dead two days earlier. According to The Blast, Hernandez suffered a brain hemorrhage in January at one of Chyna's salon and was placed in a coma ever since.

Before her fatal hospitalization, Hernandez encountered several bouts with illness. She was left paritially blind after suffering a stroke in July 2017. Per PEOPLE, that stroke led to the discovery of  AVM, or a tangle of abnormal blood vessels that connects blood to the brain. Back in December, she was forced to terminate her fourth pregnancy after suffering from a brain bleed.

Recent comments from the source connected to Blac Chyna come days after reports surfaced that Hernandez's family planned to sue Chyna for a wrongful death lawsuit and accused her of abusing her and failing to pay worker's compensation.

While Chyna has yet to address Hernandez's death publicly her exes, Rob Kardashian and Tyga have both donated to the GoFundMe account.
