Meghan Markle's relationship with her estranged father, Thomas Markle, has been highly documented. Unfortunately, it appears as though any hope for a possible reconciliation is practically nonexistent at this point.

A source close to the duchess said, "Meghan is so upset over Thomas. She's upset for a couple reasons. She doesn't even know how to communicate with her dad with knowing he won't exploit her," in a statement to Us Weekly.

The source added, "She lives in fear that he'll leak their communication. If he's spoken this much already, why wouldn't he leak their conversation?"

Shutting down hopes of a reconciliation, the source said, "She would like to speak to him, but there is no trust there anymore... And it doesn't seem like it could ever be rebuilt. The damage is done."

The new bride's alleged paranoia stems from her estranged father being caught staging paparazzi photos prior to her wedding. Once word of Markle's deal with the paps went public, the former TV lighting director revealed that he had to undergo heart surgery and would be unable to attend the royal wedding. He's also spoken negatively about the royal family in the wake of his daughter's wedding.

Dismissing Markle's recent claims that his daughter was "under too much pressure," the source said, "First, he faked this weird heart attack, which he hasn’t admitted was fake, and now he’s doing all these interviews. She has no other choice but to ignore him."

This isn't the first time the Duchess of Sussex experienced shade from her father's family. Meghan's half-sister Samantha Markle accused Meghan's mother Doria Ragland, of "cashing in" on Meghan's newfound celebrity prior to the royal wedding. She's reportedly in the process of writing a book about her experience with the duchess.
