Tiffany Haddish Claims She Was Raped By A Police Cadet
If there's one celebrity you can count on to keep it real, it's Tiffany Haddish. The acclaim comedian has been open about her experiences with divorce, miscarriage and most recently sexual assault.
During her interview for the September issue of Glamour, Haddish revealed how being raped by a police cadet at the age of 17 changed her life. "That whole experience put me in such a messed-up place for a long time, and I ended up going to counseling," she explained.
While she didn't provide too many details about the traumatic incident, the Last OG star reveal that she reported it to know avail.
Haddish revealed that her plight to aid others who experienced similar incidents helped her move past the assault. "Me just yelling out people's names with no thought behind it is pointless. I need a plan.' 'I could be a voice, but what's a voice going to do—just keep talking? Or is there action behind it?"
Despite moving past the assault, Haddish admitted that her experience largely influences the way she engages with men. "I notice that men are afraid of women that are aggressive. So to protect myself I become semi-aggressive. You hear about, ‘Tiffany always hitting on somebody,’ but that’s to keep them from hitting on me."
