Dave Chappelle is one of the many celebrities who headed to Washington D.C. to pay tribute to late senator John McCain.

The outspoken Republican politican passed away following a battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer called glioblastoma. He was 81.

Chappelle recently revealed the real reason he was inspired to attend the memorial.

During a brief chat with TMZ, he explained, "Hey, man there's a video somewhere on the internet of John McCain dancing the robot with Jamie Foxx. And he looks so alive and so happy—it looked like so much fun."

Honoring the late senator's contributions to politics, Chappelle continued, "And in these divisive times now, I like that he has become a symbol of national unity, so I came to pay my respects.”

Jamie Foxx uploaded the video that Chappelle referred to after learning that former Senator McCain had passed away. Check it out below:
