Season five of Power slowly burned to what proved to be an epically gag-worthy season finale, with one of the show's main figures, Angela Valdez (Lela Loren), getting shot in the chest before the closing credits commenced.
After the moment aired, fans swarmed social media with debates about her apparent death, with many speculating that she may be still alive. Regardless, the suspense was brewing for what is sure to be a revealing and explanatory season six opener. Unfortunately, the showrunner recently took to Instagram to give a definitive answer of what to expect, eliminating any shockers surrounding season five's closing event.
Following the moment that Loren's character was shot in the chest by her lover Jamie St. Patrick's (Omari Hardwick) best friend and partner Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora), Power showrunner Courtney A. Kemp took to Instagram to make one thing crystal clear, to the disappointment of the show's viewers.
"Angela is not dead. #PowerTV #Season6," Kemp revealed in a brief and direct Instagram post. She completed her post with the caption, "Stop the debates."
While several fans of the show were left upset following her revelation, as they wanted the character offed, for good, others were furious as she killed the suspense and eliminated the element of surprise for yet another gag-worthy season six opener.
