Meghan Markle, prior to becoming the Duchess of Sussex, has outwardly shared her liberal political views, with many holding her to a high regard because of her candor and openness on politics.
Now that the former actress is British royalty, however, those practices are now things of the past, as royal protocol prohibits her from expressing her political opinions. That has not stopped her husband Prince Harry's friends from picking up on her now much more secretive approach, and they reportedly don't fancy it one bit.
The former Suits star is now much more elusive with sharing her political views, given her new role and lifestyle. In the past, she was relatively outspoken, having encouraged Americans to exercise their right to vote, slammed Donald Trump and his views and outwardly supported Hillary Clinton's efforts.
Lady Colin Campbell, a confident of Princess Diana, reports, however, that Markle recently slipped back into her old ways, briefly, and shared her political stances and moral views with Prince Harry's friends who, according to The Cut's report, "just want to talk about their love of shooting without getting an earful about animal cruelty."
"Her politics are an issue," she told the Daily Beast. "She is ultra-liberal and that trendy-lefty stuff does not go down well with some of Harry's friends. He has introduced her to them all at parties and weddings and private dinners, but she is very anti- a lot of the things that their world functions upon, such as shooting."
Here's to hoping Markle can maintain and preserve her individuality and independence of mind while serving as the Duchess.
