If you like to “Party All the Time,” you’ll be ecstatic to learn that Eddie Murphy is still making music, although you won’t be able to hear it for years to come.
According to Page Six, while promoting his upcoming Netflix movie, Dolemite Is My Name, the talented comedian said he’s never stopped flexing his musical talents.
“A hundred years from now, when I’m gone, they’ll find all these tracks and they’ll be like, ‘Wow, we didn’t even know this guy. We had no idea,’ ” Eddie told Krista Smith on her Netflix podcast, Present Company.
Best known for his 1985 contemporary R&B jam “Party All the Time,” the father of 10 said, “Whatever muscle I use to be funny … I have a muscle to do music, and I use them both all the time … I’ve never stopped doing music.”
He continued, “I stopped putting it out though, because … the audience gets weirded out by it. And I don’t want to be that guy.”
While we can’t expect to hear any new sounds from the 58-year-old singer and guitarist anytime soon, you will be able to see Eddie flex his comedic skills as he gears up to make his return to Saturday Night Live and stand-up for the first time in decades.
