Jussie Smollett Reacts To Viral Story Of Virginia Student Accused Of Faking Hate Crime

The ‘Empire’ star couldn’t resist.

Jussie Smollett has been the topic of headlines for 2019 following the roller-coaster saga of his alleged hate crime. While he has been laying low since the February 2019 incident, in which he was accused of staging a hate crime against himself, the former Empire star recently resurfaced to respond to a troll on Instagram.

The disgraced actor hopped into The Shade Room's comments to defend himself from a comment that claimed his alleged attack is connected to the reportedly fake story of a Virginia teen being bullied because of her dreadlocks.

"Jussie really is a trendsetter," the commenter wrote.

"With all due respect brother, y'all can clown me all you want but my story has actually never changed and I haven't lied about a thing," he replied. "Y'all can continue to be misinformed, internalized sheep, who believe what actual proven liars feed you or you can read the actual docs. Either way, I'mma be alright. I know me and what happened. You don't. So carry on. All love."

Take a look at the exchange, below:

Though all charges against Smollett have been dropped in connection to the incident, he is currently still engaged in a legal tug of war with the city of Chicago, which filed a $130,000 lawsuit against him to recover the money that was spent investigating the alleged attack.
