DeAndre Arnold is an 18-year-old who has been at the center of a viral story all because of his hair. Barbers Hill High School reportedly punished the high school student with an in-school suspension because Arnold wears his hair in locs. Now, the school district is insisting if he doesn’t cut his hair, they won’t even allow him to attend promo or to graduate in June.

Gabrielle Union is among the celebrities to voice their support on social media. She wrote on Twitter, “The policing, criticism, and all other forms of bullshit ass commentary about our hair... KEEP FIGHTING!!! They truly believe if you stay quiet, they've won. Don't be quiet. Do not let this stand.”

Union was famously told her hairstyles were “too Black” for America’s Got Talent.

According to Click2Houston, the school is claiming the length of his hair is in violation of their so-called policy. Arnold’s parents say the length of the hair policy changed just recently.
