As the conversations surrounding Beyoncé’s LEMONADE continue in the week following its release, attention has been brought to the singer’s father.

Beyoncé’s father, and the former manager of Destiny’s ChildMathew Knowles has come forward to share his thoughts on her daughter’s project, especially in regards to if any of the content alluding to infidelity and abuse is directly related to him or not.

During an interview with SiriusXM, Knowles decided to take the call in front of the Texas Southern University class he teaches.

"I don't know, but I don't think so,” he said when asked if he thinks the lyrics were reflective of his actions. “I can say I've never in my life hit my daughter.... There's no way that we can get into the mind of Beyoncé.

"Only Beyoncé can answer specifically who she was talking to…. I'd rather not get into speculation so my answer is, I don't know,” her father continued. “I don't know who she was referring to throughout the whole series. I can only speak of being a proud father. I think Beyoncé pushed the envelope of creativity on this HBO special."

The conversation continued, with Knowles getting defensive at times, saying how the media makes it seem as though him and his daughter are not on speaking terms, which he says is absolutely not the case.

"I think what Beyoncé's done is given us her best body of work,” he concluded. “I think she has touched and brought awareness to a number of issues to this documentary. I think she's brought awareness to Black Lives Matter, I think she's brought awareness to challenges with marriages, I think she's brought to the forefront challenges with parents…."
