Lupe Fiasco Throws a Jab at Drake’s VIEWS Album

“Funny how he blew up after Lupe…”

Drake’s new album, VIEWS, is finally out in the wild and the memes, tweets and reactions have been coming in at full force ever since its release.

Lupe Fiasco also chimed in, giving Drizzy a little side-eye after the Toronto rapper said that his new project was based on the seasons in Toronto, while Lupe’s project Tetsuo & Youth is based on the seasons in general. Insert eye-roll emoji?

VIEWS is based around the change of the seasons in our city. Winter to summer and then back to winter again,” Drake said on Beats 1 with Zane Lowe during the album premiere.

While a majority of his commentary on Twitter has since been deleted, Lupe posted a response saying, “Funny how he blew up after Lupe,” in regards to Drake talking about the inspiration of the album being season-related.

His shade is justified, as it comes by way of Drizzy’s “5 AM in Toronto” line: "I started a new race, it's funny if you think a n***a blew up after Lupe."

Always interesting when rappers get called out for style-biting. We’ll have to see if this time around its grows into a larger beef or not. is your No. 1 source for Black celebrity news, photos, exclusive videos and all the latest in the world of hip hop and R&B music.
