For those keeping a close watch on Bobby Shmurda’s current situation from behind bars, it’s been a series of one unfortunate development after another. From being denied bail seven times since he was arrested in December 2014 to his trial dates being pushed back to watching members of his crew be sentenced to life in prison, things haven't been going all that well since the arrests were made.

Rowdy Rebel, who was also arrested alongside Shmurda and over a dozen other members of their GS9 crew in December of 2014, recently spoke with XXL about how he is keeping busy and what advice from Meek Mill resonated with him the most.

When asked who from the music industry he has been keeping in touch with since his arrest, Rowdy shared that Meek Mill, Fabolous, Migos, Troy Ave, Rich the Kid and A$AP Rocky have all reached out during this difficult time.

"Meek tell me all the time when I come home, keep my freedom like it’s $5 million," Rowdy shares during in the interview. "Don’t let nobody take your $5 million, cherish that $5 million. Do anything that’s possible to hide that $5 million from somebody trying to take it. So you gotta treat your freedom like that. I always take that to heart."

Wise words from someone that also has had several run-ins with law enforcement and can somewhat relate to what Rowdy is going through.
