Earlier this year, Future was hit with a $15 million lawsuit from his former fiancée Ciara. The rapper remained relatively unbothered in the beginning of his lengthy back-and-forth argument with the pop singer but he did fire back with a countersuit and bitter fighting words, commenting that her last album was a “flop,” and that she is a “bad mom.”
While it’s been an ugly year for the former couple and co-parents, it appears as though Future has recently had a change of heart.
As reported, Future has decided to drop the countersuit against his ex.
According to sources reporting his decision to withdraw his counter claim, the reason why is still currently unknown, but the claim has been “dismissed with prejudice.” Essentially what that means is that the countersuit can’t be re-filed unless Ciara violates the terms of an agreement that the two have.
The pair recently appeared in court as part of their custody battle, where CiCi’s request for sole custody was denied.
Perhaps the countersuit was initially put in place simply to make a statement and nothing further.
