Hear Nas and Erykah Badu's First Collaboration

The pair linked up for the soundtrack of the upcoming film "The Land."

For the first time ever (which feels a bit surprising at this point in the careers of both parties), Nas has linked up with Erykah Badu for a collaborative track in support of the upcoming film The Land.

The film is executive-produced by Nas and Machine Gun Kelly, who also assisted with the movie’s score.

For the song, Badu shows off her vocal range and talents over a series of string instruments, while Nas comes through with a conscious and fierce verse touching on some themes explored throughout the film, such as overcoming struggles. The balance between the two’s contrasting approaches and what they each bring to the track is as beautiful as it is chilling, overall making for a slam dunk collaboration.

The film, due out in theaters on July 29, follows two teenagers in Cleveland who are involved with the underground hip-hop scene and find themselves caught up in a drug deal that could compromise their bright future.

The soundtrack also features the likes of Pusha TJeremihKanye West, and French Montana.
