How?! Troy Ave Is Now Suing Irving Plaza After His NYC Shooting

Oh, is this the venue's fault again?

In what very well could be deemed the plot twist of the year, it appears as though Troy Ave is now taking legal action against Irving Plaza while he’s in the hot seat awaiting trial for the shooting incident that happened earlier this summer.

His reasoning for the lawsuit makes sense in theory, but even with the best lawyers, could be a huge stretch.

As reported, he is suing the New York City venue for allowing a gun to be smuggled into the venue in the first place. Because you know, if a gun didn’t find its way inside, the shooting incident wouldn’t have happened.

While of course the rapper has a point that the lax security did lead up to his getting shot, it still will be a difficult argument to flip what happened on the venue, considering the fact that there’s video footage of a good chunk of the incident.

According to the filing, the security guards allowed Troy Ave and other artists to enter through a VIP entrance and therefore didn’t appropriately check for weapons or other threats against safety.

Looks like if this holds up in court, Troy Ave’s lawyer will be the real MVP.
