Has Chris Brown Joined Colin Kaepernick's National Anthem Protest?

He got a little heated about this one.

Published September 12, 2016

Ever since Colin Kaepernick took a stand (or seat) in protesting the national anthem during week 3 of the NFL pre-season, everyone across the country has taken a side.

Apparently, Chris Brown revealed his allegiance and decided to sit during a rendition of the anthem before a charity basketball game in Los Angeles on Sunday (September 11).

Tank, who was enlisted to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner,” urged those in attendance to stand in respect for the people who lost their lives 15 years ago on 9/11. Breezy’s protest was different than most though. It seemed like he wasn’t even paying attention and was laughing with friends while everyone else was standing. He did appear to pay attention at points during Tank’s performance, however his choice to remain seated had Twitter talking.

Some agreed with Brown’s protest, others did not. Regardless, the singer was not happy about how the story was reported and took aim at TMZ, who originally relayed it. They also reported that he got into a heated exchange with a fan during the game.

This latest saga comes just two weeks after police showed up at Chris Brown’s California home after an alleged domestic abuse incident sparked the attention of law enforcement. The case ended up going Brown’s way after a while as no drugs or weapons were found at his residence even though his accuser, Baylee Curran, said he aimed a gun at her head.
