A Professor Said People Only Praise Solange Because of Beyoncé, and Twitter Went In

Oh no they didn't!

Solange dropped her album A Seat at the Table last Friday (September 30) and it’s received generally positive reviews.

One person though has a pretty negative review of Solange herself. Tyree Boyd-Pates, a professor of Africana Studies at California State University said that people only care about Solange because she’s Beyonce’s sister.

“Let’s be honest: Would you give this album love is Solange wasn’t related to Beyoncé?” He tweeted. “... my thought’s exactly.” He also went on to giving his own “review” by complementing the project’s “strong branding”, “great messages,” and “lyrics,” but slammed it for its “limited vocal range” and “beat choice.”

Uhhh. Nah, dude. I could say something but I’ll let Twitter drag him for it. Oh, they already did? Well check it all out below.
