That One Time Usher (Probably, Maybe) Beat Bobby Brown Up at His Birthday Party

The singer wasn't there to play.

While Usher might be known as the sensitive guy who passionately cries in his music videos or the charming singer who can win over even the most impassive of listeners, he still can hold his own ground if it comes down to it.

While it may come as a surprise that the baby-faced singer is capable of getting physical if an altercation escalates, Usher recently shared that he and Bobby Brown once got a little scrappy.

During a recent conversation on Taxstone's Tax Season podcast, producer Rico Love recalled a story of a party in 2002 when things got real when Usher and Bobby Brown had perhaps one too many drinks in their system.

"Usher beat up Bobby Brown, I’m not bulls**tting you," the producer says toward the end of their conversation. "Bobby Brown was drunk. Usher went to his birthday party in LA. Bobby was drunk, talking some s**t to Ush. Ush thought he was joking. Bobby was dead a**. He started pushing Ush in the chest. And he said, ‘Yeah, lil n***a."

Love then went on to recall details of the interaction at Bobby Brown's birthday party and how what began as lighthearted fighting and messing with each other turned into an actual fight.

"He put his arm around Ush, he put him like in a headlock," Love continues. "Like, 'Yeah n***a, don’t ever disrespect me, I’m the king. You my son.' Ush kind of like pushed back, two-pieced Bobby Brown, quick. He did it so fast, everybody in the party thought they was play-fighting. Ush don’t f**k around."

Oh, to be a fly on the wall at THAT party.

Take a listen to the producer getting nostalgic around the 47-minute mark in the podcast below.
