Halloween 2016 just might go down in the history books as the year Beyoncé absolutely slayed the holiday. At least, you know, until next year's festivities roll around and she'll probably win again.
This year, the singer recruited her mini-me, Blue Ivy, and her mom, Tina Knowles, to help complete an incredible Salt 'N Pepa look. While many were asking what her husband was up to, less than 24 hours later, a second round of photos depicting the Carter family as a whole in costume began to surface, further solidifying Beyoncé as, well, the best at Halloween.
One Twitter user, David Dennis Jr., has creatively given his take on the rundown of how Beyoncé got Jay Z to go all in for this year's Halloween, and his version of the story has absolutely got us in tears.
Dennis Jr.'s hypothetical story of how Jay Z ended up as a Black collector's edition Ken doll begins with an all-too realistic conversation of Jay Z not wanting to participate in dressing up and the subject finding its way back into a heated argument years later.
As he tells the story, he shares it's recounted from his relatable perspective as a married man.
Without giving any spoilers away, in the tweets below dive into the hilarious fan fiction detailing how Beyoncé convinced Jay Z to suit up for their legendary family costume.
1. One day years ago Beyonce came up with a Halloween idea. Jay Z flippantly said "I ain't doing that shit"
— David Dennis Jr. (@DavidDTSS) November 1, 2016
2. Beyonce went about her afternoon giving jay z the cold shoulder. He didn't know why.

3. Hours, maybe days, later. He asked her what was up. She said nothing. Then one day her forgot to get Memphis Bleek to take out the trash
— David Dennis Jr. (@DavidDTSS) November 1, 2016
4. Beyonce was irate. Somehow the argument over the trash turned into "CANT EVEN GET YOU TO DRESS UP FOR HALLOWEEN"
— David Dennis Jr. (@DavidDTSS) November 1, 2016
5. Then they had a big fight over Halloween costumes and how it showed his selfishness and lack of commitment.
— David Dennis Jr. (@DavidDTSS) November 1, 2016
6. Things escalated. He slept in the Roc Nation office for two days. She told him Nas won. It was all bad. And he just wanted it over
— David Dennis Jr. (@DavidDTSS) November 1, 2016
7. So he said "whatever" and wore the costume (after hours of "I'll wear the costume" "no don't worry about it" "I said I'll do it!")
— David Dennis Jr. (@DavidDTSS) November 1, 2016
8. And he wore the costume and said the phrase he regrets to this day: "that wasn't too bad. I had fun"
— David Dennis Jr. (@DavidDTSS) November 1, 2016
9. Now every August Beyonce comes to him with their Halloween costume idea and when he wants to object he thinks about that one Halloween
— David Dennis Jr. (@DavidDTSS) November 1, 2016
10. And he remembers the fight and he knows it's not goddamn worth it. So he braces for the reveal and says "THAT SOUNDS FUN DEAR"
— David Dennis Jr. (@DavidDTSS) November 1, 2016
11. And he goes with it every year. Every Ken doll. Every Family Matters. Or 227. Or Bae Bae Kid. Whatever she wants. It's her holiday.
— David Dennis Jr. (@DavidDTSS) November 1, 2016
12. Cuz he'd rather dress up in the goofiest costume than deal with that fight again. Cuz "anything to shut you up" is how marriages work
— David Dennis Jr. (@DavidDTSS) November 1, 2016
13. Spoken from a married man who goes to a pumpkin patch and a f*cking corn maze every October. But hey. I'm married. You not. *drops mic*
