If you haven’t figured out by now, Drake is in an eternal love affair with his hometown of Toronto.
So it comes as no surprise that last night (Nov. 16), during the Toronto Raptors’ home game matchup against the Golden State Warriors, the arena launched “Drake Night” once again for the team's Global Ambassador.
Even though Golden State handed down an L to Toronto with a 127-121 final score, that didn’t stop Drake from doing the absolute most. And just like in the studio, whenever he’s found courtside at a Raptors game, Drizzy trash-talks to the beat of his own drum. Some of that friendly competition talk even included Mr. Hotline Bling giving a noticeably unbothered Kevin Durant a few seconds worth of stares after Toronto scored.
After the game, the Warriors’ new kid on the Golden State block had some sharp but simple words for the honorary Drake Night.
“I don’t give a damn about no damn 'Drake Night,'” he said as he wrapped up a postgame interview.
Despite Durant’s crass acknowledgment of “Drake Night” and Drizzy’s courtside behavior, hopefully it was all in good-natured, competitive fun. Especially now that Drake has his own KD jersey that he donned during one of his performances. In his own post-game interview, Drizzy even gave KD props for his move to Golden State.
“I think Kevin moving to Golden State was an incredible thing for him,” he said. “I’m happy to see my friend happy.”
Welp, looks like there are no sore losers this way. Get into some of Drizzy's child's play moments from the game and Kevin Durant's response below.
