And while a few anxious bachelors have already lined their Cupid’s bow, Safaree, her former boyfriend and early rap career collaborator, may be among them — this time, however, for a new-and-improved relationship.
During a phone-in conversation with Power 105.1’s radio host DJ Self, Safaree was asked about whether or not he’s ready to reunite with the Pinkprint femcee.
“You know what? I don’t know, Self,” he said. “Not in the light of bringing it back to what it was. But just on the work tip, I think the culture needs that.”
When Nicki first announced the breakup via Twitter, Safaree expressed that, despite their public legal spats, he would always have his hand out to her as a friend. He also ended up throwing out his lawsuit against her, which Nicki said included accusations of physical and emotional abuse. Some jabs at her now-ex-boyfriend and a couple “Hey, Big Head” signals later, and the Love & Hip-Hop: Hollywood reality star is still interested in joining forces with her for the greater good: music.
It seems the two have yet to have a conversation about any sort of reunion. But when asked if he had anything to say to Ms. Minaj, Safaree tapped into their shared sense of island vibes. Bursting out in song to Jamaican reggae artist Bounty Killer’s “Not Another Word,” Safaree made it clear that there’s still no hard feelings between him and his former flame.
