Big Sean has an exciting new reason to be celebrating this weekend.
As reported, the 29-year-old rapper has officially been presented the key to the city of Detroit, marking him the youngest person in the city's history to receive the honor.
According to Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, Big Sean was honored because the "work [he] is doing with his foundation is inspiring Detroit youth to achieve their dreams."
He was presented with the honor yesterday (April 1) and promptly took to social media to express his gratitude.
"Thank you Mayor Duggan for the Key to the City of Detroit," he posted on Twitter. "I know how big of an honor this is! Thank u!"
He then also proudly pointed out that he joins the likes of Stevie Wonder and Sammy Davis Jr., who are also honorees of the coveted city key, continuing to thank everyone for their support.
Congrats to Big Sean for this latest achievement!
