Harvard University made no mistake when they awarded Roc Nation’s bad gal songstress Rihanna with their 2017 Humanitarian of the Year accolade.

In addition to being one of music’s most philanthropic A-listers, a video of her visit to the southeast African country Malawi is yet another reason to herald her as the Hollywood icon that she is.

During the Anti artist’s visit to Malawi, now covered in a 10-minute video release, RiRi’s Clara Lionel Foundation joined forces with the Global Partnership for Education and Global Citizen to give back in major ways, beginning with education. Malawi, also known as “the Warm Heart of Africa,” was ideal for RiRi’s $3.1 billion goal to gift over 870 million children globally with quality education. In the video, we see RiRi engaged with the children in several ways, as she salutes one of their most admirable qualities that hits close to home for the songstress.

“I love that they learn in melody,” she says as we’re introduced to the students learning problem-solving methods through song. “They adopt melody really, really quickly. And so, if you can use that as a learning tool, I think that’s the most brilliant, brilliant thing.”

Amid several anecdotes from the young students, namely one from 14-year-old Wongani Nyirenda attending the Muzu primary school, RiRi’s initiative makes all the more sense. As does one of the video’s most adorable moments, when RiRi helps a young girl solve some subtraction math problems on a chalkboard before assisting the entire class.

Check out the highlights of RiRi’s Malawi visit in the video below.
