Bow Wow knows a thing or two about stunting for social media, many times landing himself in some really awkward yet comical situations.
Take for instance that time he bragged on Instagram about flying to New York City on a luxe private jet only to be called out for actually riding on a commercial airliner. Or his most recent flex of a mob of screaming fans chasing him to his tour bus in Charlotte, North Carolina.
As expected, the internet collectively took part in roasting him for the video he posted himself. The general consensus skewed toward skepticism, with many offering that while that sort of pandemonium would've ensued in his heyday, no one is checking for Shad like that in 2017.
On Wednesday (June 14), Bow Wow spoke to TMZ reporters, claiming that the video was real.
“Our tour buses was parked like not really where they was supposed to be and I remember just being at the top of the loading dock with Jermaine, and Jermaine was like, ‘Yo, you cannot go out there.’ I’m like, ‘I’m not about to stand here in the loading dock all day. We’ve gotta get to the bus," he said. "So I told him, ‘Well, I’m gonna try to run around the crowd.’ And he’s like, ‘Good luck.’"
The rapper/actor went on to say that while he was able to move through the crowd unnoticed, things escalated when a fan grabbed his shirt. "I said, ‘OK, I’m about to just make a dash,’" he concluded.
